Our product is built through close teamwork and a strong focus on solving real challenges for our customers. One of the people driving this work is Rait Tuulas, our Head of Product for AI initiatives.
Rait joined Scoro as a Product Manager in 2021 and now helps shape our product vision while teaching new skills to our AI-powered companion, ELI.
In this Q&A, Rait shares what his days look like as Head of Product, how his role has grown, and what makes Scoro’s Product Engineering culture special.

1. What does your typical day look like as Head of Product?
I’m not sure product people ever really have a “typical” day. 😀
Some days are full of discussions and brainstorming sessions with my team, talking about product vision, strategy, and our roadmap, and aligning on action points that could accelerate our growth. Other days are reserved for deep focus work, when I block my calendar and work through those action points.
Depending on what’s on my plate, I might be mentoring, digging into customer problems, brainstorming solutions, validating or testing ideas, or prompting.
The toughest days are when I’ve put in a lot of time and energy, but haven’t really moved the needle or gotten any closer to finishing something. I think anyone who has worked in product can recognise that feeling.
I like to keep myself busy, bring structure into my day, and enjoy those small wins that come from getting things done, which hopefully eventually add up to a bigger impact.
2. How has your career developed since joining Scoro?
I’ve grown from a Product Manager role into Head of Product, now leading our AI initiatives.
During my time at Scoro, I’ve had the opportunity to work on different parts of the product, from work management and resource management to quoting in the core product. This has broadened my perspective from individual product areas to the bigger picture of our overall product vision and impact.
I’ve also gained a much deeper understanding of our customers and the challenges they face. Because our customer base and product are so diverse, you’re constantly learning.
Over the years, I’ve developed a stronger gut feeling, an intuition that helps form initial assumptions, which we can then validate through data and research.

3. What skills or mindsets have helped you succeed at Scoro?
A get-things-done attitude, curiosity, and the courage to question how things are done have all helped me a lot. I’m not afraid to try ideas that might not work, as long as we learn something from them. And persistence to keep going until I have enough evidence to change course.
4. What do you love most about working on Scoro’s product?
In product, you need to be passionate about the problems your product helps to solve, and I genuinely relate to our customers and the jobs they’re trying to get done.
I love seeing how Scoro becomes more powerful over time – adding more value while becoming simpler and smoother to use. Tasks that once required a lot of clicking and form-filling can now be completed in minutes with just a few short prompts.
It’s incredibly rewarding to see customers using the product and adopting the flows and solutions we’ve designed.
And of course, a huge part of what makes the work exciting is the team I get to work with every day.

5. How would you describe Scoro’s Product Engineering team and culture?
Our Product Engineering team is driven, supportive, and very collaborative.
When we are at work, we’re all in, trying to max out. And when we go out for lunch or spend time together after work, we rarely talk about work.
If you push hard, challenge the status quo, and want to make things better, you will always have the team behind you. We welcome new ideas and perspectives, and we always give them a chance.
6. What’s been one memorable moment at Scoro?
Naming just one memorable moment is tough. For me, the best moments are when something suddenly clicks.
It can be something very simple, like interviewing different customers and realising there is a clear pattern in the problems they describe. Or figuring out a logic that solves a customer need. Or discussing some ideas with a colleague and realising you’re on the same page and share the same vision. Or opening a dashboard in the morning and seeing a spike in the usage of a feature you recently launched.
I’m lucky to have had many of these moments during my time at Scoro.
But I have to admit, partying at our summer event while dressed up as a life-size badminton shuttlecock with fellow teammates is also hard to forget.

7. What’s your best advice for someone who wants to be a Product Manager at Scoro?
Stay curious and try to understand the “why” behind problems, not just the “what.” Be ready to question assumptions and work with others to find the best solutions.
The right mindset and a critical mind are key, because skills can always be learned. If you are passionate about the problems we are solving and eager to grow, this role will be a great fit.
