Security Engineer

We’re looking for a Security Engineer to help keep our IT systems running smoothly and our environment secure for employees and clients.

In this role, you’ll handle a variety of tasks from resolving daily IT issues to maintaining systems, responding to security alerts, and supporting larger projects. Your work will directly contribute to the efficiency and protection of our IT infrastructure.

We’re open to mid-level candidates with a background in IT, security, system administration, or DevOps, and a strong desire to keep learning.

You’ll work closely with our IT and Security team, gaining hands-on experience and support from seasoned professionals. It’s a hybrid role, but one of the three teams needs to be present in the Tallinn office daily.

What will you do?

  • Provide expert guidance and support across application security.
  • Identify, assess, and remediate security vulnerabilities in systems, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Support the continuous improvement and maintenance of the ISMS.
  • Implement the organization’s cybersecurity strategy and roadmap, infrastructure, cloud, AI, and application security.
  • Oversee security incident response and forensic investigations.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage security technologies, tools, and vendors to align with business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
  • Stay up to date with the latest security standards, authentication protocols, and emerging threats.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to resolve critical issues when required.

You’d be a great fit if you have:

  • IT & Security expertise: a degree in Cyber Security Engineering or similar
    • Expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, security threats/vulnerabilities and best practices within these domains
    • Familiarity with SIEM platforms for threat detection and response
    • Experience in developing and executing cybersecurity strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Experience with coding/scripting: understanding of scripting and programming languages. Can write various types of scripts for security or automation.
  • Strong communication skills: good command of written and spoken English.
  • Problem-solving mindset: able to analyse complex issues, think critically, and pay attention to detail.
  • Proactive approach: you take initiative, seek solutions, and contribute to a productive work environment.
  • Independence: able to manage time, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and take ownership.
  • Growth mindset: motivated to learn, improve, and stay updated with emerging technologies.

Bonus points for:

  • Mac experience: as a user or admin
  • Hands-on experience with implementing ISO27001 or SOC 2
  • Familiar with bug bounty programs
  • Knowledge of networking: CCNA, CCNP, or similar.
  • Experience with Linux servers: managing DNS, Kubernetes, databases, etc.
