Engineering Manager

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Software Development department in Tallinn to take the engineering organization to the next level. You will be responsible for the engineering area of a Product Group consisting of one or two development teams. The position does not involve coding, but a strong technical background is a must.

Your responsibilities include:

  • taking responsibility for the outcome, quality, and people in engineering within a product group
  • hiring, retaining, and growing people in the group and creating the best context and set-up for the people to thrive
  • being the counterparty for the Head of Product Group and collaborate closely with other stakeholders
  • initiating and driving cross-team and cross-group initiatives and improvements
  • contributing on engineering-wide technical discussion to address technical improvements, feasibility, scalability, and architectural and technical long term roadmap
  • promoting a continuous improvement, experimenting and learning from mistakes culture

You might be our newest Scorer if you have:

  • 10+ years of experience in the software development industry, of which at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • excellent technical background and understanding
  • expertise in Agile software development, Continuous Delivery, and other modern approaches, practices and techniques
  • experience with different types of software architecture
  • demonstrated ability to take ownership, drive initiatives and always look for improvements
  • a strategic mind, with the capability of seeing the bigger picture and thinking in the longer term
  • mastery of mentoring and coaching the broader team and peers, with an ability to create a highly collaborative and motivating working environment
  • first-class communication, written and verbal and listening skills
  • excellent command of written and spoken English
  • open minded person who never settles

You get extra points for:

  • a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or alike
  • experience with incremental design and architecture
  • experience with PHP, NodeJS, Go, SQL DBs and/or VueJS
  • experience with GraphQL
  • knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
