PROJECT MANAGEMENT has been practiced for thousands of years dating back to the mega projects of the past 4,500 years that include the Giza Pyramid, the Parthenon, and the Colosseum. These projects were delivered systematically with similar characteristics to today’s projects. However, it was in the mid-1950s that organizations started applying formal project management tools and techniques to complex projects.
The 1990s were characterized by the revolutionary changes in the information management sector with the introduction of the personal computer (PC) and associated networking facilities.
Modern project management is largely dependent on web-based project applications that can be used on both personal computers and mobile devices, enhancing agility, mobility, and collaboration.
